Eye Care Exercises
For good care of your eyes an intake of Vitamins A, B and C is very essential. Several vegetables eaten raw do a lot of good to the eyes. Carrot, celery, parsley and spinach, etc. contain a large amount of Vitamin A. Carrot juice is supposed to help where even eye exercises and new glasses have failed.
Eye Exercises
You can exercise your eyes any time during the day. But the best time is early in the morning when your eyes are absolutely unstrained.
- Without moving your head, raise your eyes to the ceiling and then lower to the floor. Repeat it ten times. Rest your eyes either by blinking rapidly or covering them with palms.
- Look straight ahead at eye level, then slowly to the left side at eye-level and then to the right side at eye level. Repeat three or four times. Rest the eyes.
Make a circular movement with your eyes, first clockwise and then anti-clockwise. Repeat five times each way and rest your eyes.- Wash your eyes with rose water, it will give cool-ness to the eyes.
- Remove make-up from the eyes portion and keep two slices of cucumber over them to give them rest.
- Rub a piece of ice on your face and keep flocks of cotton soaked in ice-cold water on the eyes. Your face and eyes will feel coolness.
- Keep both of your feet on the wall (at some height) and take rest in a dark room for about 10 minutes. This way blood circulation to the heart will increase and your whole body will feel fresh.
- Cover your eyes with your palms for sometime. Sprinkle cold water and flocks of cotton in Eau-de-Cologne and keep them on the eyes.
- Wash your forehead, temple and eyes with cold water a few times to give your eyes rest.
- Don’t let your eyes get very tired as far as possible. Tired eyes not only give you pain but make the face dull and unattractive too.
- Hard sunshine and dust are detrimental to the eyes, so keep them safe from these if you have to go in the sun, put on goggles. The lens of the goggles must be of a good quality; else it will spoil your eyes.
- Give up the habit of reading in a moving bus, train etc. Reading a fine print will stretch the muscles of the eyes and your eyesight will weaken.
- Splash your eyes with cold water first thing in the morning. Apply cotton wool pads, soaked in warm milk, witch hazel, rose water or weak tea solution on your eyes, press gently and leave lot ten minutes.
- Now fill an eye bath with eye lotion, place it on your eye, tilt your head back, open your eye and let the eye lotion flow into your eye.
- Repeat the same process for the other eye. Wash each eye two or three times and it will sooth and refresh your eyes. You can repeat the same process following any activity which has strained your eyes.
Eye Blackishness : - It is useless to make those eyes beautiful with make-up which are surrounded by blackish ness, so get a proper treatment for blackish ness. Have a good sleep for at least 8 hrs. Eat fruits and vegetables. Never does that work at night which puts a stress on eyes.
Natural Eye Care Treatment : – Add half teaspoon of lemon juice in 1 teaspoon of almond oil and apply it around eyes at night. Blackishness will reduce. Apply juices of tomato and lemon around the eyes after washing face in the morning before you take a bath. Put flocks of cotton, soaked in hot tea water, on the eyes, blockishness will vanish. Using dark sunglasses also brings blockishness, so use light shades.
During the daytime, when ever you have time to spare put up your foot, rest your eyes as well at the same time. Soak cotton wool pads in witch hazel, weak tea solution or rose water and cover your eyes with them for 10 to 15 minutes. Ice-cold witch hazel gives quick relief to eyes. Eight to ten hours of sleep is very restful for the eyes. Instead of cotton wool pads, you may use two slices of cucumber.
Eye Care Exercise – Tiredness
Regular and enough sleep is necessary for eyes. Your eyes will look dull and tired if you didn’t have enough sleep, for at least 8 hours daily. If you go to bed late and don’t have enough sleep, for some reasons you will have headache and pain in the eyes the next day.
