Hair Blow Drying Methods, Best Hair Dryer
Hair Care, Style Tips – Hair Blow drying methods
Years ago, when most people washed their hair once a week or every ten days, the electric fire was used as a heat source to speed up the drying process. Apart from being unsafe, it was also a highly unsatisfactory method.
In the 1950s and 1960s the electrical goods manufacturers developed domestic hood hair dryers. These were built along the lines of the old-fashioned salon dryer. Since the advent of the hand-held hair dryer, most people can wash and dry their hair within a relatively short time. The domestic blow dryers are less powerful than the versions used by the stylist in the salon. This is not a bad thing, since most of us tend to hold the dryer dangerously close to your hair. Hairdressers and makers of home dryers recommend that a 15 cm (6 in) distance is maintained at all times when drying hair.
Buy Best Hair Dryer
Before buying a best electric hair dryer, make sure that it has a variety of settings so you can control heat and force simultaneously. If you travel a great deal, it is worth investing a converter plug that will adapt the dryer according to local voltage.
Insist that you try a best hair dryer before making a purchase. Some large-bodied models may be weak, while the smaller varieties might offer greater power. Don’t be tempted by the beautifully boxed hair dryers that offer a collection of special accessories unless you feel you will be able to make good use of them. Many that have brush attachments made of sturdy plastic seem like a good idea at the time, but end up seriously tangling your hair unless you are extremely deft with your hands.
To blow dry hair into smooth styles, you will need a selection of brushes. The all-around bristle and nylon ones are by far the best to use. For smoother styles, you will need a brush. Always start at the nape of the neck, and roll small sections of hair over the brush (right). Dry from above, turning the brush as you go to encourage a gentle curve. For real curve and bounce, roll each section of hair again. Apply heat, ant then move the hair dryer away so the hair cools down before the brush is unrolled. The ‘scrunch’ method of drying is perfect, if you like the rough and tumbled shaggy look (far right). It is ideal for very layered or permed hair. Simply take a handful of hair beneath the fingers, hold the hair dryer 15cm (6 in) away, and direct the heat between the fingers, releasing hair a little at a time as you go.
