Short crops and short cuts can be as versatile as long hair, if there is sufficient length on the crown to create shape and movement. A short style needs to be expertly cut and shaped so that it will flatter the face and balance the profile.

Your hair line at the nape of your neck will also be a deciding factor on the style, since the finished effect must look absolutely right. If the hair line is very high or ragged, the hair must be cut correctly to conceal this problem. Directional cutting comes into its own with short crops.
