Hair Care – Summer Style – Summertime cover ups
Strong summer sunshine can be drying to all hair types, and especially unkind to bleached or tinted hair. When that sun is combined with sand and seat water, the joint effect can be disaster-and it may take months to get your hair back into healthy shape.
Women who spend their days on the beach, and then manage to look superbly coiffed in the evenings, almost certainly have a trick or two in their beach bag. It could be a terrific sunhat, or simply a pot or tube of the right hair treatment.
Beach hats are a must in the summer, and look great if you choose boldly bright colors and interesting shapes. Floppy, big-brimmed hats are always right in soft straws and chintzy cottons, but the pull-on hats that can be washed out when dirty are probably the most practical. Soft toweling or velour turbans are another alternative. These look especially dramatic with stunning one-piece swimsuits. When on holiday, buy beach hats in the street markets at resorts. They’ll be better priced than the versions from the clothing boutiques.
Hair that has been colored suffers in the sun. it can become very dry and coarse, and the sun lifts any artificial color, lightening and fading tones dramatically. If yours has been bleached and then tinted, there is little chance you will return from your holiday with the same colored tresses you had when you departed.
There are several excellent sun-shield products that are combed through the hair before a day in the sun. these enriched creams contain special deep conditioners with sun-protection ingredients, and will help keep your hair color fresh and the condition silky.
Hair Massage
Massage your hair in aloe Vera Juice for few minutes. This will restore its softness. Olive oil can work wonders in reinforcing moisture to your hair. Heat the oil before using and allow it to soak for a time lesser than the time you allot for the summer season. Too long a period of soaking hair in oil can get you ill. If you are used to treating your hair with herbal extracts herbal oil does not soak it for a long time. Herbal ingredients are mostly cooling agents that are more suitable for the summer. Keep away from washing your hair too frequently.
Keep hair covered when sun bathing to protect it from drying out (right). For a head start on the beach, try this tip. Shampoo your hair, towel dry, and comb conditioner through generously. Slick your hair back with a comb, and you are ready for the sun with your head well protected (far right). After a swim, the conditioner will have washed away, so apply a little more or cover your head in a beach hat or turban. Always use conditioner at night after shampooing, and leave it on for several minutes longer than usual. If the ends of your hair become dry, rub conditioner in with your fingertips before going to bed.
