Make-up Tips – Applying Eye Liner

After applying powder, apply eyeliner which will accentuate your eyes. Its shade should match that of the mascara.

It is quite tricky and difficult to use a liquid eyeliner. Use a thin sable-hairbrush to draw every thin, fine line, starting from the innermost corner of the eye up to the outer corner Now thicken the line slightly in the centre. Let it dry before you open your eyes wide, otherwise it will smudge.

Similarly, draw an even fainter line along the lower lashes. This time leave the inner lower corner free and draw the tine only three-quarters of the way towards the outer edge. Lf you put the line around the eyes completely, it will make your eyes look smaller.

Before you start putting on eyeliner, see that the base is absolutely dry, otherwise the line will not come neat. If you use a liquid eyeliner, it will run and smudge if the base is damp or greasy. The eyeliner should be applied in very good light and you may even use a magnifying glass to check the effect. Hold the brush of the liquid eyeliner as you hold a pen and put your elbow on the table in front of the mirror. Now support the palm of your hand with your jaw, so that your hand is absolutely steady.

How to applying eyeliner properly?

You have to look down slightly and pull the upper lid to draw a fine and neat line. If you extend the curve of the eyeliner beyond the outer corner of your eye, the illusion of an almond eye will be created. If the line does not come right, erase it with a damp cotton pad and then let the skin dry before putting it on again. Draw the eyeliner line very close to the base from where the lashes grow.

Eye Liner is available in blue, black and brown colours in the forms of cake and liquid which gives eyes a beautiful shape. Don’t make thick lines lest they will look unnatural. It is generally applied on the eyelashes. You can apply it around eyes too, if you have small eyes and want to look them big. Eyebrow pencil can also be used instead of eyeliner. Make thin Lines on small eyes and thick ones on the big eyes. Don’t use eyeliner on the sunken eyes, otherwise they will look more sunken.
