Make-up Tips – Rouge

Rouge gives colour to the checks and fills the face with glow ness and health. If your complexion is too pale, rouge lends a natural look to your face. You can undertone your imperfect features by putting on the right make-up. Use the principle that dark areas recede and light ones stand out. For too long a nose, use a darker shade of foundation (mix a dash of brown eye-shadow in your foundation) or blusher, down the centre of it and on the tip of the nose. For a too-broad nose, darken the sides. A lighter shade of foundation down the sides of a narrow face will make it look broader.

How to apply Rouge

Put rouge in a way that it looks natural. Light colour in the day, and dark in night looks beautiful. Use it after the foundation and before using powder. Powder rouge gives reddishness, so the ladies having yellowish type of skin should use creamy rouge which will bring reddishness to the face.

Don’t use it in summer and in the humid weather because it turns dark after sometime and looks like a patch.

Another kind of rouge is cake. It is suitable for smooth skin. Apply it with cotton. Lotion rouge is going for dry and normal skin. Apply it with the tips of fingers.

Keep one thing in mind that dark colour of rouge exhibits maturity on the face and light one provides it a youthful forever. Use of the rouge is deeply related with the shape of the face. A balance in these two, hides most of the short-comings.

Know the shape of your face first of all, no read the suggestions given below and then use rouge. Before applying rouge, laugh little, the portion of the cheeks which bulges a bit is the part where you should apply rouge.

Long Face :- Apply rouge on the triangle of the cheeks, don’t spread it beyond the corner of the eves Spread it towards ears, and face will look broad.

Square Face :- Apply rouge on lower part of cheeks and spread it upwards and outwards, square ness of the face will reduce and there will be a balanced touch

Round Face :- Spread rouge towards nose, face will look a bit long and roundness will reduce. Apply rouge a bit above the bone of the cheeks.

Don’t rub face with a towel if more quantity of rouge has been applied, this can form patches. Rub a piece of dry sponge slowly to clean extra quantity. Now move the puff of powder and level rouge and now pat a flock of cotton soaked in astringent on face.
