Make-up Tips – Face Powder

Face powder will seal all the make-up you have applied until now and lend a matt look. Some people do not like to use face powder during summer. The shade of powder should be the same as that of the foundation. Compressed compact powder is best for touching up your make-up during the day-time. Apply powder with a fresh piece of cotton wool each time. If a powder is used, it should be washed regularly.

Brush surplus powder off the face with cotton wool and downward strokes.
You must check carefully to make sure that powder is not clinging in a patch anywhere over the face and neck.

Face powder is available in both dry and settled forms. You may choose a shade matching the colour of skin or a bit lighter. Match colours of powder and foundation. The powder does not stick on the face when the foundation applied is dry. Don’t apply powder on the face by rubbing it. Apply it with light pats and remove it with a brush from eyelashes, eyebrows, eyelids and hair. Move sour hand upwards while applying it.

Shake the box of powder before using it. Light powder will stay on the face and make-up ill not look thick.

The puffs for applying powder are available in the market. Dirt settles in them after some time, so keep them clean always, then only it will help in proper make-up.

Settled powder is called compact. It can be kept easily in the purse, it does not spread. Keep your make up fresh with it. The shade of the compact should always be of the shade of the powder so that lines don’t show on the face.

There are three main shades in powder, golden white medium white and pink. These also have tight and dark shades. If you are not able to choose the right shade of these or your complexion is white and powder does not match the skin, the better choice will be not to use it at all.
