Method of Using Toner
It is very important to choose and use the toner which is suitable for the skin type. We should not use a toner like water. 6-10 drops can be taken in the cotton and can be used only after squeezing. Nowadays some toners are available in spray form. Try these natural homemade toners for different skin types.
Natural Homemade Toners
Oily Skin Toner
Mix some curd with cucumber flakes. Apply this on the cleansed skin and leave it for 5 minutes. The curd removes the darkness of the skin, cucumber acts as a mild bleaching agent and removes the excessive oil content of the skin. This is suitable for oily skin.
Normal Skin Toner
Take one handful of mint leaves and boil it in water. Allow it to cool and refrigerate it. Apply on the skin daily night after cleansing. Wet the cotton in this mixture and keep it on the eyes. It helps to remove the tiredness in the eyes and provides nutrition. Take 100-gram of glycerin and mix 6 teaspoons of rose water and ¼ teaspoon of alum. You can refrigerate it and use it daily. This is suitable for those who have normal skin.
Oily Skin Toner
Mix 50 ml of rosewater in 100 ml of vinegar and refrigerate it. It can be used as a toner. The vinegar present in this will act as a deep cleanser. Add ½ lemon’s juice in ½ cup of water and 1 teaspoon of rosewater and apply immediately on forehead, neck, and cheeks. This toner removes the darkness of the skin and cures pimples. This is suitable for oily skin.
Combination Skin Toner
Take two drops of lemon oil and lavender oil and mix with 2 drops of distilled water. Take it in the palm and apply immediately on the face and neck and wipe it. It removes the dirt’s in the skin and retains the moisture content. For some people, the pores in the skin will be bigger. These people can use the rosemary and mint oil 2 drops each along with 2 drops of distilled water and apply on the skin. This will be helpful to combination skin types.
Sensitive Skin Toner
Take 1 teaspoon of honey, 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice and one egg are mixed well. Apply this on the face and neck and wash after 10 minutes This makes the skin tissues tight and gives a fresh look. Honey will be helpful to bleach the skin, lemon juice for refreshment and egg for tightening the skin. This is perfectly suitable for sensitive skin.
There are 3 types in the toner. Toner mixed with alcohol, toner with water and toner with glycerin and water.
Skin Brazes or Fresheners.
These are very mild in nature. It contains glycerin and a very less quantity of alcohol (10%). Rosewater is a good example of this. This is helpful for the dry skin
This is a little stronger than the first type. It contains 20% alcohol. Orange flower water is of this type. This is suitable for normal, combination and oily skin.
This is much stronger than the previous toners. These are 20-60% alcohol-containing toners. It gets dried quickly so as to be prescribed for oily skin.
